What You'll Actually Learn

We've structured the curriculum around practical skills that people actually use when evaluating investments. No theory without application.

Financial Statement Analysis

Reading balance sheets sounds boring until you discover what they actually tell you about a company's health. We'll show you how to spot red flags and genuine opportunities in publicly available reports.

Valuation Methods

You'll learn multiple approaches to determining what something is actually worth – from discounted cash flow to comparable company analysis. Each method has its place, and you'll know when to use which.

Market Context Analysis

Numbers don't exist in a vacuum. We'll examine how economic conditions, industry trends, and competitive positioning affect investment value, using real examples from recent years.

Risk Assessment

Every investment carries risk, but not all risks are created equal. You'll develop frameworks for identifying, measuring, and deciding which risks are worth taking based on your circumstances.

Due Diligence Process

There's a systematic way to investigate potential investments. We'll walk through the checklist professionals use, adapted for individual investors who want to make thorough evaluations.

Portfolio Construction

Individual investments are just pieces of a larger puzzle. You'll explore how to build a collection of investments that makes sense for your goals and risk tolerance.

Learning Format

Sessions run weekly on Tuesday evenings from September through November 2025, with each meeting lasting about two and a half hours.

How The Program Actually Works

Theory only gets you so far. Each session combines explanation with application, so you're constantly connecting concepts to real-world situations.

Workshop session showing students engaged in financial analysis discussion

Start With Real Companies

Every session begins with an actual company or investment scenario. You'll receive the same information a professional analyst would have, then work through the evaluation process step by step.

Build Your Analysis

Using the tools and frameworks introduced in each session, you'll construct your own analysis. This isn't about getting the "right answer" – it's about developing a systematic approach that works for you.

Compare Perspectives

One of the most valuable parts happens when the group discusses their findings. You'll see how different people interpret the same information, which teaches you to consider multiple angles before making decisions.

Apply To Your Interests

Between sessions, you'll practice the techniques on investments that interest you personally. Whether that's stocks, property, or business opportunities, the evaluation principles remain consistent.
